BASEMENT SQUASH COURT FLOOR
WATERPROOFING
Pier Harbour Apartment, Victoria Island-Lagos, Nigeria
BACKGROUND
The issue of water seepages from floor slabs and wall joints were major threats to the functionality and utilization of this luxury basement used as a squash court at Victoria Island, Lagos. Due to the high water table and hydrostatic pressure within the area, there were obvious signs of water seepage from below grade slab with water seeping out of the joints in the court. There were also several cracks on the concrete floor surface. Several surface waterproofing membranes had been employed in the past but all failed with great damage done to the wooden squash court floor tiles.
SOLUTION
To permanently solve this problem, Krystol Integral Concrete Waterproofing systems were adopted. Having removed the damaged wooden tiles, the concrete slab was exposed prior to the Krystol waterproofing treatment. The cracks and joints were diligently treated by the Concrete Logistics team prior to the application of Krystol T1/T2
