Concrete Roof Slab Waterproofing

BACKGROUND

The Treatment of entire surface including weak spots and pipe penetrations

as well as surface application on the entire surface area to stop water

seepage into the building. A thick layer of screed was done on the concrete

slab to prevent water from getting to the slab. Pipe penetration treatment

was not done for all protruding pipes that enter the slab and parapet wall.

The roof gutter was leaking, and Weak spots were identified on the slab for

treatment. The surface area treated is 681.21m2 and joint treatment of

334.10m.

 

SOLUTION

The Concrete Logistics team were contacted to provide a permanent

waterproofing solution for the roof slab. The solution provided by the

team include removal of a thick layer of screed and damaged felt

membrane, specialized surface preparations and surface treatment using

Krystol T1/T2 waterproofing systems, Pipe penetration points were

treated using the dedicated Krystol pipe penetration system, treatment

of weakspots and joints. This treatment is guaranteed to last the entire

life of the concrete, which means no other forms of waterproofing

(including bituminous felt) is required throughout the life of the concrete

slab.
